The O2OG has the following powers and functions:
- To consider projects in the light of recommendations the Secretariat has made in accordance with appraisal and scoring of projects using the agreed project selection criteria.
- To advise the Secretariat which projects it considers should be supported with funding from the Objective 2 Programme.
- To receive reports on the implementation of facilitation arrangements undertaken in accordance with the Programme Technical Assistance Strategy including oversight of work plans and co-ordination of communication and publicity activity.
- To receive reports on the commitment of Objective 2 funding in the region and advise the Structural Funds Strategy Group on measures to enhance Programme performance.
