This work is funded by Building Capacity East and will enable the region’s LSPs to test whether their arrangements are fit for purpose in order to respond to the enhanced role set out in the Local Government White Paper, including Local Area Agreements and the wider place-shaping agenda. In addition the project is aiming to develop a regional capacity building and support programme for LSPs drawing on the results of a programme of diagnostic work.
Development work is underway and that together with a programme of diagnostics will run through summer 07. We are encouraging LSPs to engage in the project and there are a range of opportunities to do so, work in progress PDF document below gives more information on the process.
