GO-East has had to respond to a number of significant challenges and opportunities that have arisen over the last year. Our remit from ODPM and the other Departments which sponsor us continues to evolve. The introduction of Local Area Agreements marks a step-change in the way we interact with localities. At regional level we are moving forward from strategy formation to delivery coordination, and preparing to address, with partners, the region’s priorities for the next Government Spending Review. Our recent Partner Survey and Peer Review also told us that we needed to improve the way in which we work with our stakeholders both across the region and in Whitehall.
As a consequence, we have reviewed the way in which we are organised, in order to provide a stronger senior management team, more effective brigading of work, and a sharper focus on individual places. There will be a further limited phase of structural change later in the year to reflect our reshaped role from the Department for Education and Skills for implementing “Every Child Matters”.
Details of the revised senior management structure within GO-East, with full details of responsibilities and contacts, covering all our Directors, Deputy Directors and Team Leaders can be found in the Contacting GO-East Leaftet which downloaded from this page. (Please note - we are still recruiting to some Team Leader posts).
We believe that the move to the new structure will utilise the skills of our staff more effectively, but we also recognise your concerns that continuity in our business is not lost, so we will continue to work closely with you to ensure best use of existing expertise. We want to build upon our existing relationships and create and maintain effective partnerships to deliver real and sustainable improvements to the quality of life in the East of England.
