Current scams relating to the Government Office for the East of England

Published: Fri, 28 Nov 2008 12:30:00

We are aware of a series of emails currently in circulation which claim to be from the Secretary of the Government Office for the East of England (GO-East). There is no such post within GO-East. The Government Office for the East of England and UK government departments do not send unsolicited emails.

At GO-East we take these types of emails very seriously and we have alerted the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG), who have alerted the Police and the Office of Fair Trading.

If you have received a suspicious email claiming to be from the Government Office for the East of England or are unsure about any email or web item related to GO-East, please report it using our general enquiries email
